My tank is 20x12x12" (50x30x30cm as I am European). Considering I live in the Netherlands I do have access to Jebao but it is more expensive than on ebay. But the ones on ebay have american plugs... And since this is a budget tank, I will look to save some money on the powerheads.

So I have access to Hydor and Tunze. Which of the following should I get for the tank size that I got.

  • Tunze 6012
  • Tunze 6025
  • Hydor 240
  • Hydor 425

Awesome. The 6015 it is. I was debating between the Hydor 240 and the Tunze 6015 but my tank is too long (not a cube) so I figured the Tunze had more power.

I would always pick Tunze or Koralia. I have a combination of the two in my setup but I find the Koralia quieter then the Tunze. I don't know if you guys share that with me.

Thanks. Uhm... now here it get tough. People seem to be split between on this over several forums spread. My LFS sells the Koralia 240(900L) but not the 425(1600L) and sells the 6015. But online the Hydor's are available and seem to be cheaper compared.

The tank will be next to my bed. So quiet helps out.

If they are not quiet then I would get them out, run them in some RO & Vinegar and the take it apart for a good toothbrush scrub down and inspection. You may have crud built up in your pump.
I just switch from a Koralia to a Jabo, and I will never put another Koralia in my tank, the flow difference is HUGE, and I expect that Tunze would also have that huge flow difference. Personally I would go with the Jabo or a Tunze (controllable version). Since the Jabo is a simple 24v dc power brick how much more would a WP10 cost you?

I don't have any yet. The WP10's are not available here yet. Considering the WP25's run close to 90-120euro... I guess they would be 70-90euro.
