Does anyone know if its ok to extend the 12 volt wire that goes to the tunze ato pump? I need to add about 4 feet to mine. Plan on using 14 awg wire for boat trailers with heat shrink crimps.

Yes you can do it. Just don't solder anything so you can easily undo it for troubleshooting or for warranty work.

Sure can. I extended mine about 25 feet to my basement mixing station and top off barrel. I used 14-2 in wall speaker wire. Works great

Bump.

Had anyone else done this? Would speaker wire work?

I have done this numerous times, i have used an old cheap extension cord, 16 gauge wire etc etc.

I like to either use crimp connectors or solder, but ALWAYS use heat shrink wraps.
If you need to replace the metering pump its a pretty simple 5 min task, even with solder connections, just hold the solder iron tip against the connectipn to remelt and pull apart.

I've done it as well. I used posi-taps and they worked fabulously. I wrapped with electrical tape. Works like a charm. Probably added 15-20 foot as the controller is in my office while the pump is in the garage.

What did you use for the wiring?

I see where you can extend the 12v wire and that makes perfect sense. What about cutting the optical and float sensor to extend them? Obviously use heat shrink to close up the connection. Anyone ever done this?

Yes, no problem. I'd use solid core wire (typical doorbell wire should be about right).

Did you get a response to this? I need to extend mine as well.
