I just got the Tunze Osmolator ATO and when I go to do a water change I turn it off and then back on after I do the water change and get the water in the return going again. But for some reason it wants to fill the water past the optical eye to the float valve. I have to manually lift the float valve a few times until it resets itself before it can tell the water is covering the optical eye.

Has any one had this issue and have any recommendations?

When you turn off power to the Tunze ATO & then turn it back on, it goes through a system check which (if memory serves correct) includes running the top off pump for about 20 seconds. Is this causing the level in your sump/tank to get too high? If so you can try dialing down the pump speed (look in the manual how to do it) which is easy to do. If still having issues, I'd post in the Tunze section on R2R as you'll get great help there. HTH

Agree, the pump goes on for 15 seconds when the unit is turned on. If your tank is smaller, i would adjust the pump flow rate, slowing down. I do this on my 30 gal.
