Tunze Osmolator 3155 doesn't seem to be working

I installed a brand new osmolator 3155 2 days ago. I'm using the tunze switched socket and an ecotec versa as the pump. The 3155 starts up normally when plugged in and if the sensor is dry it passes the self test. Problem is its not turning on the pump when the water level in the sump drops. The controller shows the green level led even as the water level drops and the sensor is completely out of the water. If I touch the sensor (without moving it) it kicks on the low level light and the pump turns on. But so far it hasn't turned the pump on on its own. I should mention my tank is running with freshwater not saltwater since I'm dialing everything in on a new system at the moment. Another thing is my sump has lids so there is a lot of condensation on the sump walls, not sure if that matters.

This is the sensor height right now and the controller says level.

I don't know exactly. It just started working shortly after I posted this. I didn't do anything but wipe off the sensor with a paper towel. Although I did that multiple times before trying to troubleshoot and it wasn't working. Maybe they are unstable in freshwater? I didn't see any bubbles or anything on the sensor so I'm not sure why it wasn't working or why it started working.

That usually does it. Build up on the eye prevents a proper reading. I used to have my kalk doser in my return chamber but the Kalk residue was blocking the optical sensor.
 
Not critical, but the optic sensor is mounted in the wrong mount, please use the smaller one as it is more secure and water can cling between the post and other protrusions on the magnet and the sensor.
