Tunze Osmolator 3155 sensor question

Hey there, about to install the 3155 ATO.. I started thinking about the sensor and light. I know some ATO mention specifically will work in the dark. Do I need to worry about that with the tunze 3155? Never used anything with a sensor like this, so not exactly sure what to expect.

I keep mine in the dark and it seems to work. It is not pitch black but in an aquarium cabinet where the fuge light does not come on until evening. No back on the cabinet. Pump failed recently and they said they were sending me a new one but the sensor has never had an issue.
