Tunze Osmolator 5017 too high light constant red and solid beep

Hi,

I'm just transferring my tunze osmolator from one tank to another, it was working fine I cleaned everything lightly with vinegar now when I set it up on the new tank...

I plug it in, Green light comes on solid for 3 seconds, then everything goes out for 10 seconds. Then the red too high light comes on solid with a constant beep. and won't stop until unplugged. I don't think its the light sensor because when I put it in water the green Level light will go solid and when its out it'll flash.

Any advice? Thanks

Obvious question but I assume the high level float switch hasn’t triggered?

its not. Its out of the water and when I move it around with fingers it makes no difference.

When the red light comes on, is it just the red light or are other lights on?

When you plug it in, does it still go through the pump priming process?

Just the Red light and the green level light will flash then go out or if i put the light sensor in the water will go solid. No it does not do the yellow light priming process

Final question and then I'm out of options. I don't think it makes a difference to your test but....

Did you take the float off of the sensor (by removing the circlip) when you cleaned it? If so, did you put the float back on in the same orientation?

I don't think that would cause your issue anyway, as I think that only determines the on/off position of the float (and not whether it works or not).

Other than that, it's probably best to email Tunze.


EDIT: Also check that the high level float isn't being influenced by any magnets.

I didn't while cleaning, then did remove it while troubleshooting, there was no difference. thanks for your help

I reached out to Tunze and they had me send it in. The float was broken so I paid $40 or something and they hooked up a new one and sent it back
