I posted this on RC but i figure it may also help someone here.

I have owned a couple of these for some time now and they always have the same problem, the plug. I have tried cleaning both surfaces only to have it lose connection later on. I am sure most people who have some type of error with them 90% is this problem.
I have had different lights and errors from the same problem. This is how I chose to fix it permanently for anyone needing a step by step guide i am sharing this.

1. First i cut off the plug from the cord. I stripped it down so you can see the white wire goes to the center and the open wire goes to the clip. (not that it would matter)

2. Pull up the plug holder and cut it free at the solder joints.

3. Cut the plug in half as shown with whatever you have, I used a dremel.

4. Splice the wires on the cord and separate them.

5. Put the plug cover over the wire (don't forget this step) and prepare to solder the wires on

6. Solder the wires and put a zip tie nice and tight on them that is bigger than the hole on the slide in plug cover.

7. Slide the plug cover back in the unit and put it back together.

8. Fill the remaining space around the wire with a non conductive sealer, silicone would do fine.

9. Once filled allow to dry and cure making a waterproof seal around the wire.

10. One of the things that bugged me about the Osmolator was that the lights just shine thru every hole, so if your looking at it on an angle you'll see whatever led is lit thru the holes marked for something else.
In this pic you can see the level light thru the "pump on" and "too low" holes clear as day.

11. So to fix this I took apart a standard black pen and cut pieces of it.

12.Slide the pen pieces over the LED's leaving just the rounded top part.

13. As you can see at an angle where you can just barely see the glow of the level LED it doesn't shine thru the other holes at all.

Hope this helps you :)

Great tips. I am sure it will help quite a few people.
