Tunze Safety Connector & Ecotech Vortech Controller

I noticed that my power adapter for the Vortech controller says it outputs 24v at 2.5amp. I am also running a Tunze 6095 on the Safety Connector connected to a 34ah battery.

I just noticed that the Safety Connector is 24v (naturally) and 4amp max. I figured "why the hell not" and plugged the Safety Connector into the Vortech and It seems to power it with no issue. I don't understand electricity very well, but is this something I could run long term or do I risk burning out the controller? Thanks!

Yup, this isn't a problem. As long as the voltages match and the rating of the power supply is higher than the load needs, they are interchangeable.

Should work, no problem. Brew is right (as always) as long as Voltage matches and P/S is rated highter (in Amps) then the equipment you're good.

Wait 'till people find out you can use Tunze Part with a cheap battery for Vortech

To be fair, it’s not a cheap battery, but it’s definitely about $70 cheaper than the Ecotech one. Thanks guys.

Ecotech also sells their fused battery cable, for like $5. I used them to make a voltage monitor for the battery.

Fused VorTech Battery Backup Cable

Used as a replacement part or to link more than one battery backup in parallel to extend backup time. The length of the cable is 8ft long.

Yes, but the kit allows you to buy cheap marine batteries in the 100Ah plus range for not so much over a hundred $, not to mention that in a pinch you can literally remove the battery from your neighbors cars (LOL) to use as backup.

Harold, yes we were talking about battery backup. Tunze cable is made for that, except unlike the Vortech battery, Tunze allows you to source off-shelf one that has higher capacity and are cheaper, sans the "fancy" painted box.
