Tunze skimmer pump wire exposed

Hey guys, I noticed this today while cleaning my tunze 9004 skimmer. Should I be concerned?

Yup. @rvitko is the rep. Electric doesn't mix well with water. Well, I guess it does, but that's the problem. I'd guess it's time for a new motor.

Hopefully new motor is not too expensive, this is only 3 years old... What could have caused this though, just normal wear&tear?

Nope - my was a DC motor and somethings had happens with the electronics inside
