Tunze skimmer suddenly not working.

I bought the tunze 9004 dc skimmer less than a year ago and it has worked great. A couple days ago however skimmate production stopped. Today i took a closer look and realized that there were no bubbles coming out of the skimmer. I disassembled it several times and everything is working including the pump but still no bubbles?

Check the elbow. And also the inlet that the elbow points at.

The elbow does sometimes get salt in it.
I belive the skimmer May have come with tiny wire brushes for that.

It’s what the long air intake tube is connected to at the motor assembly

That did it! Thank you so much! There seemed to be a small debris caught right inside of the connection.

Skimmer has been working flawlessly since that fix, up until yesterday when i noticed that it was no longer skimming. This time however, the controller isn’t lighting up.

Instead of the blue light being on continuously on the controller, it faintly blinks on and off. Not sure if the controller is the issue or the pump is.

Ugg. It’s sunday and tomorrow is a holiday , but maybe @rvitko could help you out.


I just replaced the motor on my skimmer(finally after a couple months messing with it.).

Is this an issue with the electronics? Wondering about whether i should just go ahead a but a new skimmer
