I known this topic probably comes up quite a bit but recently i bought a used vortech and havebhad nothing butnproblems with. Most of the time i have to trick to start so i have to put the magnets on the glass while the pump is onmormit will say its stalling. Oncemi get it running though it works grat but it alsmwon't go into mighttime mode without stalling. It can be really annoying when i turn the powerhead off to ctachnclown babys and then it won't turn back on. Right now i have the older technology would a technology upgrade solve the problem. If not what would yo do i have considered givingnthentunze products a try since their cheaper but want to be sure its worth it . Because i enjoy the small part of the powerhead that is innmy tank

Have you checked your glass thickness with the pumps requirements?
Or maybe just needs a vinegar bath?

Great questions. Depending on the Vortechs you purchased, your aquarium's glass may be too thick, in which case the magnets may have trouble making contact. The vinegar bath of the wet side assembly is also a great suggestion. Be sure to scrub the impeller with a soft tooth brush to remove any build up of coraline algae or other build up.

The Tunze pumps and Vortech pumps are both great pumps, but since you already own the Vortechs, you may look into the above mentioned suggestions.

I would recommend contacting them if you have a problem with their pump. They're customer service is excellent. Contact them via phone or directly on their website.

I love the vortech so I would definitely try checking on the suggestions above. I have the MP10 and it's been going strong for quite some time. I turn it off and on quite frequently without any trouble. I had trouble once awhile back and replaced it on my own since I found a good deal. I think that was just laziness on my behalf though and have never had any other troubles. If the manufacturer can't help maybe try the place you purchased it from and see if they could help out.
