Well it looks like the tunzes are better at mixing the water in the tank than the vortechs.it also looks like the tunzes preform better than the study that compared the two brands made them out to be.you can really see the tunzes move water across the tank faster than the vortechs and have a more closed off flow pattern where the vortechs have a wide and shallow flow.

I think it's important to consider the big picture when evaluating and testing the performance of these types of products. I believe Tunze has done a good job at demonstrating other important factors in regards to what makes a power head effective in a reef tank. It's great that they provided this video and it's effect may possibly counter act the bandwagon effect that Sanjay's test may or may not have produced.

So to have perfect flow in your tank you need one of each! HA!

That's what another guy said on an other forum. He said to get perfect flow in his tank he had a tunze stream pump, a mp40, a tunze wavebox and sea swirls. This combo gave him what he felt was the most natural flow.

I am a big Tunze fan due to their customer service with a great product. I do feel it is good that they have competition. It drives them to continue to make better products for all of us. It does seem odd in my local area many have went to Vortechs and most have gone back for one reason or another. I dont think i would ever sell my M60... that thing is awesome on my frag system.

i agree
people will probably still argue which is better but they are both great pumps that have their adv/dis and personal preference will still be the decicing factor
