Tunzie protein skimmer stopped workind

not sure if this is correct place to ask but here goes

Have a tunzi 9004
Has been working well for last 8 months
My loca fish store said I should add
A product bio-calcium for the corals
Started it about a week ago
Not protein skinner stopped working
Before I remove it and try to fix it or clean it
Can anyone tell me if adding this would have that effect

Added 1 scope every 2 days as per there instructions

only way to know is to look at the insides of the skimmer. Id guess not though.
at 8mos its time to clean it. dont over clean the body and cup btw.Leave the bacteria or youl have a break in again.
just clean the motor and tubes. inside the motor tube it can collect salt. thats likely where calcium would build up i belive.

What was taken tout of the tank
And I used my water pic to clean it up
After a 5 min clean up with the water pic
Put it back in and was working right away
Looked to Bessemer cal buildup around motor
