Hello everyone,

Two weeks ago I bought a piece of Turaki from the petstore and placed it about 5 inches above the sand bed. Since it is a deep water sps, I was afraid that too much light would bleach it, so I raised my 6 bulbs 54watts ATI Sunpower to 9 inches above the water line (Standard 75 gallons tank with 21" Height). Anyway two weeks has gone by and it is doing great and growing a tiny bit. I want to lower my light back down to normal (5 inches above the water line).
Do you think it can handle that much change in light?
Should I move it to a shaded area a bit and move it back to its original place in a week or two?

Or just leave it alone in its original spot and see if it would bleach out or grow and react based on the situation?

Thanks,
Bao

IME deepwater can take a lot of light...deepwater can be a misnomer. I say treat it like any other acro and acclimate it to the light and it will be fine

Thanks everyone for the quick replies.
I was a bit worry so I decided to make another pair of hooks to hang the wire and just lowered my light by 2 inches. I will wait for a week and move the light to its final position that is 5 inches above the water line. I just like this piece alot and want to be safe.
