I am currently treating tank for black ich that came with clownfish. Did the big no no and put it in with no qt because I worried about breaking the bond between the anemone and the clown. Long story short black spot appeared on the chin of the fish. Trying to find out whether the prazi kills the worms or sterilizes them so I can figure out if I'm dealing with prazi resistant worms or not.i pushed the dose as hard as I could on the second treatment and almost lost a shrimp because if I look closely can see tiny worms in glass. Still have yet to introduce true live rock to system and used sterile substrate so I believe what I'm seeing must be the turbelians.

The single black spot did turn pinkish red around the edges after I did first treatment and send to have become more textured over time. Am I still correct in thinking this is turbelian symptoms or should I be preparing to fight velvet?

The pinkish red is probably the result of the blood engorged worm releasing and an bacterial infection at the insertion point. Velvet usually leaves a much smaller insertion point with a white mucous spot that most think is the actual velvet parasite itself. While continuing the prazi, consider treating with a bath for 60-90 minute Ruby Reef Rally as it has both antiseptic and antibiotic qualities that help the fish's immune system to fight off bacterial infections at the insertion points. Be prepared to increase the strength of the antibiotics to NFG (nitrofuracine green powder), or sulfaplex + neoplex, or furan2 + kanaplex + metro.

Right on. This is what I precieved to be the case wanted to get a second opinion on it as I read on the forum recently velvet sometimes starts as a single spot. Am out of furan 2 and never tried the Ruby reef even though it's been around forever. Thank you much.

Fingers crossed but it seems the prazi has done the job. No more worms visible on glass and no more heavy breathers.

Thanks for the update I hope the bugs stay away!
