Turbo snail a poop machine?

So I had high TDS coming out of my RODI unit and was getting green hair, diatom, and coralline all at the same time. Parameters were not out of whack, but anyway I replaced the resin, TDS is zero now and I just did a 20% water change on a 45 gallon.

I picked up 2 turbo snails after a bunch of different types of snails crabs. I’m limited on some CUC because my flame hawk fish is an butt and a bully. Anyway some of the rock now looks clean except for what looks like small rat droppings. I’m thinking it’s the snail?

Yep, that guy is obviously getting plenty of roughage.

Lol at least I know what it is, I was just guessing. The rock work looks like it was sterilized though so I’ll take it

When u do water changes, be sure to siphon out.

As JGT said siphon out what you can. I also like to vacuum just the top of the sand occasionally.

For sure I’m assuming it’s going to turn into nitrate if left. Also guessing that once the snail clear up all the algae they won’t put out as much waste. I wish I got those first but nobody had them. I have so many worthless hermits and snails in the tank that do nothing. A couple I flip over on occasion just to make sure they’re still alive
