Turbo snail changing it's shell?

seems like it started off as a zebra turbo and now is something else? Could it be adapting to new environment?

I assume you are talking about the darker-colored part of the shell. What probably happened is that some smaller snail went and grazed on the algae that accumulated on the top of the shell, leaving it brighter and cleaner. However, seeing as the patterning (black stripes) does not match between the two portions, there might have been some strange shift in the snail’s calcium carbonate secretion from its mantle (that’s how it creates its shell).

Snails won't change their shells,unless some weird snail I've never heard off, snail is attached to shell and aslong as right conditions in tank the snail eats and its flesh and shell grows until it dies or get eaten but won't just change its shell.
I'm not sure why you thinking this could happen tbh.
But as wheat toast said,probably another snail partially cleaned sone of its shell so different colour.
But nope not changed shell imo

Obviously they don’t change the shell, I meant changes the color/pattern it’s making as it grows
