How could it have got in my tank?
I haven't added anything that I wouldn't notice it on in 3 months.
Then it probably hitchhiked in on something before that and has been hiding since - rock, coral, algae, etc.; pretty much anything wet could carry hitchhikers to our tanks.

Lots and loads of hitchikers can appear years... honestly years after introduction of a new frag plug, I would not worry too much if this weird 'slug' creature is not causing harm, it will probably die in a week or two

As other have said, its a Stomatella snail. They hitchhike in as super tiny or even as small larva and nearly always and eventually appear in the the aquarium. Most dips wont effect eggs, so if they can arrive in that fashion as well.

Either way - Stomatella are one of the good guys.
