Anywhere from right now, to a day or two. If some are still stationary come tomorrrow morning, pick them up and take a whiff. If any make you wanna puke after sampling their smell, throw it away.![]()
I've heard of the snail smell of death.... that is the last thing on my bucket list lol

Nems are pretty up there IME [emoji14]I've heard of the snail smell of death.... that is the last thing on my bucket list lol
It's even worse than they say. Back when I was just a pup I worked for a LFS, and I dreaded the "snail bags" because we would have to go through them looking for obvious dead ones.

Not to highjack the thread (might be too late) but this was my thought, too... Dead nem might be the worst thing I've ever smelled...
Really?? I didn't know that
I took the safe road and vacced mine out that I bought for cheap to save [emoji14] (sorry for lè jacking!) I have learnt if something is dead or on the way out to avoid moving it too much [emoji14]Yep... I let it go too long, started looking really bad, went to pull it out, and as it cleared the water it just exploded into slime with a stench that.... indescribable is about the only word...

Take them out and smell them. If they smell rancid then they are dead!
