So my turbo snails never make it past 2 weeks not sure why but from what I can tell they fall upside down and can’t flip over and then the hermits get to them. is that just part of what happens or how can I combat it besides when i see they are flipped upside down to flip them back over.

That’s really the best you can do.
Most turbos will either starve (they are too efficient for their own good) or die because they really need cooler water, and don’t make it very long.
A good alternative is trochus.

Ok never tried Trochus I’ll give them a shot so basically it’s just the nature of the hobby and nothing I’m doing.

Probably because the hermits want larger shells, I'd put a few shells in there for the hermits to move house. As they grow they need to be able to change shells.

Nothing your doing, but crabs, shrimps, long nose hawk will flip them for diner.
