Shortly after after Christmas i ordered a frag pack with add ons from Turbo21 consisting of

1 true blue hornet
2 rastas
1 sunny d
3 la lakers
1 red hornet

2 pinkies? (these got subbed out to 5 polyps of his purple minions the best polyps in the shipment)

add lava lamp mushroom
add tyree sunset monti at 140 lets add a soul ripper a mary jane =180$ if u wanna throw in one more cool paly or shroom for 20$ to make it an even 200$ shipped

communication during the ordering period was quick and precise.
I posted payment to his pay pal with a smile on my face. Super excited to get some rastas and a sunny d these two were my motivators for ordering this pack.
the sunset monti and the cool shroom were added bonus excitement.

we set up shipping to be 2weeks out so that i could have them delivered on a Wednesday the beguining of my "weekend".

shipment day comes... i choose to pick the package up at the main location so the wouldn't be on a cold truck all day. I get my box o happiness home and un wrap it. the small box was packed well with Styrofoam on all sides the bag of bags in the center with a warm heat pack over top. all is good!

i empty all containers into a container to start acclimating, test the water with a quick strip test...all seems well and good, notice the white tile fragments...... these things are so white there is no way they have spent any time in a tank. it seems he he cut the frags glued them and placed them in bags rite away for mailing. there are more polyps than i ordered. at least 3 of each, except the ones that were not fresh cut ....i think in hopes that atleast one would survive being so newly cut....
mailed corals have to deal with the stress of being bagged up and flying across the country in a tiny bag, taken out and acclimated into a new tank with different perimeters.. add to that that they were cut super recently

I held back on posting this in hopes that everything would open up an be happy. its been over a week and all the non fresh cuts are doing great. the fresh cut and glue pieces that unfortunately encompasses the rasta's, one of the ones i was most looking forward to getting are still having a hard time opening up and being happy...
I also recommended turbo to a good friend of mine as i was excited at what seemed like good deal.
My friend whom i now hope posts had three of his purchases die on him ...they were fresh cut and glued to these white tiles. he contacted turbo about these and was told to mention it on his next order....but that's between those two. sorry rift...

this was my first shipped purchase from fellow reefer on R2R

thanks for reading. Turbo21 seems like a nice guy
i have a lot of pics and documentation of my acclimation process if anyone is interested. posting few here

I just got a txt a few minutes ago from a friend about this thread

The last contact I had from you was on January 15th when you received your box. You said everything was fine and looked great and was already opening up

And you asked what I used for frag discs. For anyone else reading this I use natural travertine tiles for frag discs not your normal ceramic that grow algae in 24 hrs. With the smooth surface of travertine tiles algae seems to have a hard time getting a foot hold. Which if I am looking at your pics correctly. 10 days later in your tank and they are still spotless. Correct?

Some of the frags were cut months ago and a few were cut a few days before you ordered them

I use a lot of extra glue on my frags rather than let them fall off during shipping

I am wondering what the issue actually is here because. From what I see and what is written above everything is still alive 10 days later?

Some zoas are not as hardy as others and I myself have troubles with certain morphs from time to time

Anyone on here who has dealt with me knows that communication goes a long way. I have re shipped whole boxes that got delayed issued refunds if I made a mistake and given out freebies and extra polyps with every order

On your order you ordered 10 polyps but received 18 polyps.

One of the reasons you receive extra polyps is because sometimes frags die after you receive them. Due to stress from shipping and changing of the conditions they came from

You can check with any seller on this board. Doas need to be reported within a certain time period. And picture proof provided

You never told me there was an issue til now only when your friend is having an "issue"
Your last pm said

Ya man everything looks alive packing was nice and warm a few are in the first stages if opening
Looking good so far

So still wondering what the issue is?

Bob, I edited my post I did not mean for it to come out as "flamey" as it probably came across. Everything is still alive and hanging in there, a few of the polyps are still being slow. this was my first purchase from anyone here on R2R so I guess I really didn't know what to expect. The fresh cut frags definitely added to the stress on both myself ...trying to make sure they have what they need to heal and survive and stressful on the coral themselves having to be cut/glued/bagged/shipped/acclimated/rehomed. I guess I expected healed plug and play frags to be honest. But I didn't ask that before I purchased so, I apologize for some of the pointed nature of my original post. I will post more pics of these frags as they progress. As for my friend I will leave that where it should be.. between him and you. It sounds to me like you will do what is needed to make things rite as am I. Brad

i was just taken aback that this thread came out of no where. if you were having issues you could of sent me a pm the next day or even a few days later

Like i said those tiles do not grow algae as fast as the standard ceramic plugs. i mean 11 days later in your tank and they are still white right? i have sps frags that have encrusted on those tiles before coralline or the hard green algae takes hold

But let me know how things turn out a quick pm is all it takes

I over reacted. I think everything will live and be healthy.

Beradd

not a problem i understand you were upset. but glad to see everything is looking good. Let me know if the rastas dont make it and i will refund you or send you another frag your choice

Bob

Thanks Bob,
I really appreciate your willingness to replace or refund. I hope to not need it. i put the rastas in a prime spot in hopes they will pop out and join the party. i saw some color on them this morning so i am optimistic. sorry again for my earlier disrespect and letting my ideals get in the way. thank you for handling it like a pro and thanks again for sharing your corals with me. they are very pretty!
