Turf Algae or Hair Algae

Ive noticed this algae growing for about a week now in my nano reef. The thing is I'm not sure if it is hair algae or possibly turf. Ive gone through the hair algae battle and won a few months back and have been algae free ever since then....until now.

It seems more neon green than the usual hair algae. Just wondering if this is hair algae and I'm trippin or if this is turf algae. It's pretty tiny, about 1/2" x 1/2" and I have it in a few areas on my rocks and a couple places on my sand bed.

Are you on the east coast?

Try to nip it in the bud and get it out.
Nutrient removal and manual removal.

I'm in Dallas, Texas.
I'm sure the main cause of this algae is because my new addition, 2" yellow tang...(come on out tang police..IDC lol)
He will be happy and healthy in a 100 very soon.

Just got done doing my second 5 gallon water change for the week. Added fresh GFO and siphoned out the algae the best I could.

Its very hard to get loose since it is still small.

I sweat. I hope it clears up.
I had the lime green cyano in spots for a few months and it eventually faded.

Maybe the tank is just ready for a new tank too.

Looks like the start of hair algae. Take a look at the Vibrant thread, seeing some good things happening

Thanks. Ive been using Vibrant for about 4 weeks now, lol 2x & 3x dosing on some weeks.

@saltyfilmfolks Turns out this was the beginning of Green Cyano. I have siphoned it off my rocks and sandbed pretty easily but it has came back worse in less than 4 days. I did not know Cyano could be green but it is. Everything is the same except its green. The classic rising strands,bubbles trapped in it. Off to get some chemi clean and Red Slime Control by Blue Life. I hope 1 works so I can return the other.
