Hey guys,

1st things 1st i apologize if i posted this in the wrong spot. Secondly i have what i believe is turf algae in my refugium and is thriving! So i guess my question is is this a good or bad thing? Theres not much evidence of it in the display tank which is good. But since its growing like crazy in the fuge should i be worried? Or just harvest when needed?

I am pretty sure that the turf algae could find its way to the display tank. If there isn't anything to eat it.

I have two tanks connected via a sump. Turf algae made its way through the sump into my second display.

if your nutrients are in check, I could see it being manageable. If you have a nutrient explosion you’ll never get that algae out of your display
