For over the last year I’ve been tackling something in my tank.

It only grows in my rock, it’s mainly short 1cm but can get to say an inch max. It’s a deep green colour. Always very tightly packed. I can pull clumps on the longer stuff off but a new toothbrush won’t get some off. It’s not the bright green fluffy GHA you typically see.

I thought it was GHA and tried to reduce phosphate and nitrate even though they showed zero. Almost bottomed out the tank, ended up with possibly Dinos but also Cayno. I’ve sorted that but this green stuff is still here.

I’ve tried nowaphos, hard water changes, dosing hydrogen peroxide, lights out and vibrant (which killed my GHA)

It dies with hydrogen peroxide sprayed directly onto it but it grows back.

any clues to what it is and how I can deal with it?

Hmmm. I'm sure people will want to see a picture of it. Post one and that would be a good start. Best of luck to you. Algae is frustrating. I use peroxide at times on mine. Peroxide is great, but doesn't get down to the root.

Here some pics
