Turkey baster alternative for stirring up detritus

Does anyone use a small pump of sorts to blow crud out of their rock work? I can stir things up pretty well with my MP40s, but the turkey baster seems to be the only thing to really get things like cyano off the rocks and down the drain. Suggestions? Seems like I saw Ryan on BRS TV using a spare Neptune PMUP for this purpose.

Yeah, i have a hydor Koralia nano, the 500 gph version. Its zip tied to a 3 foot piece of 1/2" pvc that i stick in and blow off everything right before my water change.

I like to get all the pumps in the tank off, and use only this power head to sort of "corral" the ditritus to the front corner where i can suck it out easliy. Its been working great for me. And youll be shocked just how much crud is laying in the nooks and crannies of your rockwork. I have a barebottom tank also, so i have a decent flow in my display, and still theres crud in my rocks each WC.

I do use a turkey baster but it's too long to point sideways into rocks and just feels ineffective at times. Turkey basket only used for turkey.

You may also consider Julian’s Thing from Two Little Fishies.

I use all three: baster, Julian's Thing, and a powerhead. The first 2 are good, but they cannot match the power of a powerhead for blasting the rocks, corals, and sandbed. I also occasionally hook up a canister type power filter ( I think it is a magnum) for a few hours and really storm it up in there.
