Turkey Bastet diatoms?

my tank has recently finished cycling... some of my rock has what I assumed was drown diatom growth. Today I decided to hit the rock with a turkey blaster and the brown stuff just flew off as if it were sand. Is this normal? I imagined any algae would have a much better grip on the rock than that Thank you

Normal. Will go away once the diatoms eat all the silica from the sand.

You can blow it off and let it get picked up by your filtration system.
