Turn filter sock to chaeto

Hello everyone!
My waterbox sump barely fits my skimmer when the divider for the chaeto is in.
I was wondering if I should just take one of the filter socks out and make the compartment into a chaeto reactor area and move the divider.
Removing the divider would give my skimmer more room to pull in water and I would have better access to it and a better are for media reactor.
Lmk if it’s a good idea

I dont think it is. your skimmer is gonna pull in the same amount of water regardless of how roomy you make its accommodation. Having access to it is another matter, but i think you are going to constrain your Chaeto from growth given the size of your filter cup which will limit the usefulness of it.

Agree with above. Chaeto grows fast and gets big.
Your current setup looks good.
