Turn over rate

New to the hobby, and trying to see what you guys and gals think about, how much turnover should a mixed tank have? I have 100 gal display tank with a sump. I have a Vectra S2 now.

What’s the gph on the pump? Back in the day they recommended 10x turnover. However, now days I think 3-5x turnover is acceptable.

I believe it is around 1400GPH

That should be good. The actual gph will be less once the pumps internals get covered in biofilms.

Yeah that’s a really good turnover rate then.
100gal display w/ let’s say 40gal sump is 140gal. If the pump is 1400gph, that’s a 10x turnover rate. That’s definitely adequate and will work great!
