Turn VarioS 4 Pump into Skimmer Pump.

I have a Reef Octopus VarioS 4 that is my current build. I bought a VarioS 6 to replace in on my new build. I was wondering if it possible to turn the VarioS 4 into a skimmer pump. It looks like Reef Octopus uses some form of the pump for its skimmers. http://reefoctopus.com/product/octo-regal-protein-skimmer-s/. Perhaps I can convert it and then by the body?

you'll have to measure the skimmer connector but one of these may be what you're looking for

Thanks. That looks like the part I need. I do not have a skimmer body so I am open to ideas. I need to upgrade my skimmer for my new tank so if I can repurpose my old return pump figure I can save some $$$.

I have VarioS4 for my skimmer, VarioS4 for water movement, and two VarioS6's for water movement. The Impeller is different in my Skimmer version.

The links are to the CoralView parts website. (https://www.coralvue.com/parts) But, reality is you may find a cheaper skimmer used. Someone who's broke the pump and doesn't want the heavy $$ to replace it.

Great info here. I would also suspect the volute is different. Any chance you could verify? Interested as I have considered this hack as well...

As far as I can tell. Volute is the same. I say this, because I replaced my skimmer Varios4 with a water movement Varios4, and just changed the input Venturi and impeller. All else was a straight body swap.

i,m not finding just the body available but, as some one above said you may find a used skimmer with bad pump and replace with yours using parts listed above.
or you could purchase something like this new, https://www.coralvue.com/classic-200int-protein-skimmer and replace the pump with yours.

As far as I can tell. Volute is the same. I say this, because I replaced my skimmer Varios4 with a water movement Varios4, and just changed the input Venturi and impeller. All else was a straight body swap.
