That doesn't sound bad. If the tissue still looks inflated and the polyps are out, then it's probably fine. If it's new to your tank then it's not uncommon for corals to shift color.
well its been in there for like a week or two now.. and its starting to take on a purple color like a dark rich purple kinda looks cool.. turquoise on the inside and purple on the outside
when i turn on the lights though the tenticles go in they dont always stay out.. is that an only night thing?

A candy coral having its' tentacles out only at night is perfectly normal. Sometimes they can be coaxed out during the day by feedings of mysis or brine, but often they stay closed until lights out. If your turquoise is turning purple you're quite lucky. Turquoise is fairly common, but purple isn't seen much and is far more valuable.

it was at one time all bright turquois, but as you see now its not lol and if that is true that this will be more valuable.. then woot.. i just like the way its turning colors in front of my eyes.. was like whoa everyone that comes to my house loves that piece.
The purple is probably the natural color of it.....It could be either to much light caused it to go turquois or not enough.....As long as it looks healthy I don't think you have anything to worry about.....Very nice piece...
well it was turquois... now purple.. i think its due to not enough lighting on my part...someone sold me the coralife aqualight.. 192w 1 96w antitic or however you spell it.... and 1 96w 10k daylight... its a 56 gallon tank 30Lx18Dx24H i think thats right... lol odd shape tank.. yes but this guy swore up and down that this light would be GREAT FOR MY REEF TANK!! but now i think that i dont have enough lighting in my tank..and it just stinks that i just payed 270 for this light! and could have a better light for a few bucks more!!! grr
