Turtle in my sump??

Can i put this guy in my sump? He’s about 1.5” and caught him in a salt water bay. Please let me know ASAP. Thanks!!

No. You could introduce diseases and what not. He also is not a tropical reef creature.

Thanks all for that quick feedback!! I set him free in the same spot that i found him. Strange he was in the bay, but sounds like everyone thinks it’s fresh water..
 
I wouldnt for the simple fact that it's likely illegal to do so.
 
Sliders are freshwater. So no. Do not put in sump. And they can get to a fairly good size, we are talking between 6 to 12 inches in length. They also need a good strong uv light for proper shell growth. And a basking area. So not something meant for sumps or saltwater tanks.
 
As a turtle owner and enthusiast, NO! Freshwater turtles require tons of space. If you want to get a turtle buy a WaterLand Tub. The absolute best way to keep turtles. Now I’m curious what’s in your tank that doesn’t belong...

How does that have to do anything with what he would put in his tank? He asked if he could before he did. Im sure that everything in the tank is just fine. He re released the turtle into the world.
