Dude NO WAY am I letting you get away without painting that abomination of a stand. If I had to start with a crappy black stand and make it nice SO DO YOU. Get some brushes buddy.

Oh and while you're at it, get some new pocket hinges, those things have more rust on them then Grandpa's implant. I'll be back tomorrow to perform an inspection. Remember, even coats all in the same direction. Any brush lines visible and you're starting over.
