Turtle's Deep Blue Sea

I have a pin coushion urchin in the tank with Maui. Make sure everything is securely bolted down. They are bulldozers. Algae destroying bulldozers.
I went with a long spine. I like being stung by wasps so figure this will up my enjoyment of cleaning the tank.

Cyano is back... ugh, I'm never going to win. On a good note, the rescue frags seem to be doing well. The clean boarder around the glass is from the conch... it likes the edges I guess.

Cloooseeee up! Tiny little frags, but it's what I could save. Now, grow baby grow!

Oh, and downside of feeding LRS... my fish just turned their nose up to mysis.

We finally found the power cord for the Jebao dosing pump. It wasn't in the house, it was in the garage with some older equipment not in use. We can finally start dosing and try our no water change Red Sea method out. If that doesnt work, I'll get the Triton method chemicals. Hopefully they get more stock in, everybody has been out of stock forever. I've started with a 1ml per day dose. Alk tested at 8.2dKH.

Ugh. That sucks. At least the conch is doing his job well.

Maybe you could order a map for the conch so he doesn't wander lost around the edges! :p

Haha, I think he's looking for a way to get thru the glass... that thing is a bit bigger than I expected when I ordered it.

I'll upgrade tanks probably by this time next year. I've wanted a 36"x24" SCA 90g "cube" for a while, but I'm wondering if I should just go ahead and get the 48"x24" 120. It's not much bigger and I have room in my tank spot in the den, but it would mean buying another light, or new lights all together. I had planned on using the 3 A160s I already have at 1' per light. That should give me enough PAR up high for some SPS and lots of coverage down low for my squishy LPS I love. (Squishy lps is anything that looks like acans... scolys, lobos, trachy)

Oh, also... after asking the forum, I've decided against a pygmy angel. All my favorite corals are like tasty little danishes and tarts to angelfish.

I'm thrilled with my SCA tank. Their 150g is a great value, too!

I'll have to measure again, but I believe a 150 would be too wide for where I would put it. It's 5'x2'x2', correct?
Yup! And you may even get the same price to go with a custom build to have them leave out the overflow and drill it for a Synergy Ghost which would be my preference.

I had a ghost on my 75... kinda didn't like how much plumbing there was on the back of the tank, but I loved how little there was in the tank. If only I could have the plumbing exit the bottom of the tank, with no internal overflow taking up real estate.

Sounds like someone wants to eat their cake! :p
