Turtle's Fairy Tale

My centerpiece. The squishy bouncy trachy.

Finally measured it fully inflated. 6" end to end, 3" tall. It's pretty much a hemisphere in shape, so just as large front to back as it is side to side.

Just wondering, if you ever had to remove that from your tank for some reason, would you technically be performing a tracheotomy?

Who, me? :oops:

I blame Najer ;Sorry

It's always that dirty Englishman's fault. ;Woot

But seriously, Brew... ;Drool;Drool;Drool. Nice piece. I can't wait for it to open all the way.

Thanks! It's much smaller than yours but I finally found one with nice colors that wasn't crazy expensive. Been in the tank 4 hours and already looking much better.

Don't be so sure, the skeleton on mine is only about 2 1/2" across and around 1" tall.

They open that far?? :eek::eek::eek:

I know nothing about them other than the ones you guys have look amazing. I had to do it.

Expect around 3 times the size of the skeleton when it gets comfy. The mantle on trachys is huge. It's gonna look awesome. ;)

I've moved it to a spot with a little more room based on what you have said. Can't wait to see it open! The colors look even better than the pic on the website. I'm thrilled!

Remember this pic from the diatom stage? That is an almost fully a retracted trachy who fought off a diatom army... it gets just a bit larger than that now, it was starting to swallow the acan frag on the right side of the picture. The frag is in another spot of the tank now.

That is about what mine looked like when I unboxed it. By the time I got back home no skeleton was showing so I thought it was about maxed. Comparing that pic to the current ones... ;Woot;Woot;Woot;Woot;Woot;Woot;Woot;Woot;Woot

Ok, I hasn't been that long, but here's a little game I like to play with myself called spot the difference. Looking at the tank every day it's hard to see the little changes that happen. Adding a new coral is great and exciting because it all happens instantly, but watching one grow takes time. Every now and then I like to compare old photos to new ones I take and try to match up the angle and colors.

Don't make me swim over there (I don't do planes) young man to put my arm in your tank and prod your trachy out of spite!? :P
