Tuxedo Urchin stealing my frags?

I've always thought they were super cool animals. I've never kept them because we used to get pencil urchins in at the store I worked at when i was a teenager, and they would push giant rocks over constantly and knock giant corals over. Kinda the clutzes of the sea, it doesn't help much when you are hydraulically powered and have a very rudimentary nerve network for a brain. (Don't know your own strength).

Great now I want one.

My new tuxedo urchin came with a a zoanthid on its head. While this was super cool, I didn't know if the urchin would hurt the zoanthid, so being the butt hole that I am, I selfishly removed the zoanthid and wedged it in some rock work to watch it grow. Keep in mind I have about 15 zoanthids that are not anchored down in my reef. The next morning (this morning) I find the fell with the SAME zoanthid on his head!! I guess he can keep it. He's trying to be extra sneaky this time, and has also covered himself in shells and coral bits hahaha. I love this guy!

I want to see me urchins with hats!

My tux is using HA at the moment .When I actually see it, I pluck off what I can.

To be honest I wish I never got an urchin. Rarely see it, just see the damage the next day of rocks & corals knocked over. Some corals will lose flesh in a day being headfirst in the sand.

Mine had a frag of radioactive dragon eye zoa for about 6 months. There were actually new polys. I think he can cut off zoas (or pull them off), because those are is favorite and I'll see him with one or two polyps from time to time. If I'm doing a little fragging I sometimes give him a pretty hat.

I have caught mine wearing : A molt from my blood shrimp, a multiple polyp zoa I didn't know I had, a piece of coralline algae he pried off of the over flow, various frag plugs, Mummy Eye chalice frag, a Rasta zoa frag. You get the picture. Very industrious and ambitious invert!

Both my rose and tuxedo urchin are big helps when it comes to fragging; I used to have only one large colony of xenia- now, thanks to the urchins' marauding behavior I have several more polyps in various parts of the tank. Hmm, wonder if they could help with a bleeding apple scoly?

Funny, mine does the same thing. Leaves all my other zoas alone.
