how exactly do you remove the items off of the urchins back? can you?

I have 5 in my 120. No algae to be seen. One long spine. Two pencil and two tuxedo. I had little hats for them but they picked up to many shells

I have those extra long tweezers ordered from Amazon to grab corals . I use it to take off stuff from urchin.

I second the Must Have. I’m looking for two to replace my one the died probably from old age. They eat a ton of algae, and pretty much leave the Coraline alone. I’ve had other Urchins eat so much Coraline, they turned Purple.

Been looking at getting a urchin what are yalls thoughs good bad and ugly never had one i have corals do they pick them up would like some insight

I love, love, love my Tuxedo Urchin! Fun to watch him moving around the tank and he has never picked up anything that was a problem. When I do my water change I'll gently run some water over him to clear off some debris.
