Does anyone have a TV mounted above a tank? I've been thinking about this, but I'm not sure if it's a good idea or not. Looking for input.

Thanks

Besides humidity, if something happens and the TV falls into the tank.....No need to explain! However, TVs are cheap nowadays, by the time moisture is done with the damage, maybe it is time for a new one already :-)

While I would normally agree with you regarding humidity. We have had a TV in the bathroom for several years now with no issue. It gets incredibly humid with the shower running.

I should also note that the plan would have to include a canopy to cut back on any issues (humidity, light shining, cords accidentally falling into tank, etc)

Ha, if the TV falls into the tank, I've got bigger problems.

I think the point is asking whether you want to enter that realm of possibilities when it can be avoided? ;)

I think it would be interesting to see. I'm just surprised that no one has considered it.

Agreed, I don't think the humidity will kill it over night, if you're the kind of person who upgrades your TV every few years anyways I don't think you'd be likely to see an issue anyways. From a home theater perspective I wouldn't want my bright tank lights right under the TV. Maybe if the aquarium wasn't a reef or if the lighting schedule dimmed it significantly by the time you would want to watch the TV.

In addition to the humidity the heat will not be good. This is why in general you aren't supposed to put a TV over a fireplace either (but people still do that as well).

It messed mine up but here is how I have it now
