2" moves a lot of water and is probably fine. A pair of 1.5s does move more.

I misspoke. This is not like a baffle. It is just like there is nothing there at all. It will work fine. When you use baffles before and after it, the two sides of the bulkhead will be the same.\\

I worked at a store and we had 125g sumps connected like this.

Those 40b are thin, so just be careful moving and installing the bulkheads them so that they do not crack. Make a template so that you cut the holes in the exact same spot.

I like this. I assume the second downstream 40 will be your refugium and return. I would put a weir infront of the two bulkheads in the second breeder to drive the water up and over to remove bubbles and slow the water velocity as it goes into the fuge. Then a pair of weirs before the return pumps.

I bought a Fuji 40 breeder kit from BRS. The plan is to use the kit but divided between both tanks. I need the room for rock and bio bricks because the tank is a frag tank and I don’t plan on have any rock in the display.
