Hi. I recently got two new Clarisea filter rollers and installed them in a synergy reef SK-44 sump. My previous sump was an icecap 48XL w/ two Klir rollers. The Klir rollers let me run two rollers/motors off of the same optical sensor. This way if one gets triggered first they both move, insuring that one is not always rolling first, keeping the other from getting triggered. I am trying to found out if there is a way to do this with the Clarisea rollers, otherwise I am worried one of them will never move.

Any help or ideas is always greatly appreciated!

If you trigger both at the same time you will probably use a little bit more fleece by rolling when it's not needed. Having them roll separately will ensure that they are only rolling when it's needed.

If you do want the to roll at the same time, then the easiest way would be to tie the floats up and use a float connected to a breakout box on a Neptune apex if you have one.

If you do not have a controller but are comfortable doing diy wiring, you will have to open them both up and hook a wire between both floats so they are in parallel. Hooked up this way either float will cause both units to roll the fleece.

How do you have them oriented and plumbed relative to each other? A photo would be helpful. in terms of running off the same float, I’m not aware of a way to do that.

I have two in series and they run independently. I have the first one off most of the day via the apex. I found it was more sensitive to fluctuations in flow and was getting triggered more often. It is on for 2 hours per day and the fleece lasted more than 6 months. The second runs off the float and the fleece lasts 3-4 months. Obviously, some of these times are system and flow dependent.
