I am in the midst of doing an upgrade/consolidation of my tanks. Right now I have a mated pair of clowns. This pair is a snowflake and blackice clownfish pair. My second pair is a pair of ORA pink skunk clownfish.

I am setting up a 180 gallon marineland tank right now. I would like to add both pair to this tank. Is this something that is possible or hit or miss depending on the temperament of the clowns?

Thank you in advance

Well your gna get a mixed review on responses on this. but in my opinion you should be fine 180 is plenty. Depending on size of clowns but make sure to establish everything first then put them in at night. And leave lights off for 15-30 so they can find their spot they would be on on both ends if you see that they are fighting after a couple days then you know it's time take one pair out

I would say it may be ok. I had a black pair and an orange pair in a 125g tank that went well. So well, they switched partners! HA!

I will keep this post updated. Thinking I am going to add them at the same time and then monitor closely.

I personally wouldn't do it --- I have had serval spawning pairs of clowns over the years, including Clarkiis and Maroons, they pair that was the most aggressive was a spawning pair of pink skunks. They even took out a golden dwarf angel. In 20+ years of keeping clowns, I have never seen a pair be just so plain mean. Ended up selling them to a local breeder.

If you do attempt this, remember, things can go South very very quickly (( sometimes quicker then you can react )), and it could be a pain in the butt to remove one of the pairs from that sized tank.
