So I came home to find my two clowns dead. About 2 years old. Pretty aggressive pair. Tank mates are 4 inch yellow belly blue tanf, 4 inch yellow Tang, 4 inch mystery wrasss, Ruby longfin fairy wrassez and a melanurus wrasse.

No signs of aggression except from longfin fairy flashing.

I did have am outbreak of ich a week sgoz but everyone is fine. Clowns had no signs of it and no scratching.

It looks like the fins were eaten or ripped off. It's weird both died at the same time. All other fish are eating

Hard to tell with carcasses and missing tails in pic.
Anything unusual such as swimming funny or erratic, darting and scratching? Poop- normal or white and stringy looking?
How was appetite and overall breathing ?

If you google bristle stars and clown fish you will probably find your answer.
Not a lot of happy endings for the clowns.

We need to know the tank parameters. The fish both died after living their 2 years. Something spiked up
Nitrates are 5, 1.024, ammonia 0. 78-79 temp. I don't have a phosphate kit.

I do recall my mystetybwrssse missing a tiny bit of fin damage about a week ago thinking about it.

Only aggression I've seen is the Ruby longfin flashing his fins

I do seem to have a lot of cerith snails dying and eaten lately. I have all reef safe wrassez though. Started the tank with dry rock and new sand so don't think there's a fire worm.

All the tronchus that I bought with it are still alive. Just the ceriths dying and being eaten.

I feed every day pe mysis or lrs with sea veggies

These parameters are great. If not the water quality then it could be anything from faulty heaters to fish diseases. I would double/triple check your testing equipment. Clean and recalibrate your refractometer and pipettes. Clown fish are tough so I don’t think they were bullied to death in their sleep. but if you have some crazy predator fish I don’t know about I could be wrong.
