New tank about 3mths.

Last week in the morning found my clown stuck to intake side of my nero5.
Powered down pump but my clown "Puff" died within 10 minutes.
Blamed the pump and got intake gaurds I found on the forum.

Monday night got home from Chicago RAP. Everyone seemed fine.
Fed everyone special treats, 30 minutes later chromis "Teller" breathing super fast.
Died later.
Blamed it on my autofeeder i found out later didnt feed for the 4 days we were gone.

Friday, Today my Sally Lightfoot crab "Fred" just molted and when I put his alter ego in a clear bowl i noticed a few specs.
Under micro they look like this:

I did not see these on the other two.
Everyone else seems fine.
All lvls are fine.
My ther clown "Piff" and chromis "Penn" seem fine. Lonely but appear healthy.
Are my previius assumptions right oris whatever this is kill my fish!?

First a healthy fish wont get sucked into a powerhead and second, fish can go over a week easily without being fed. Soo there is a bigger issue going on.

What is this "special treat?"

Special treat frozen food vs flake.
just found perfect matches to my pic.
They are neobenedenia melleni which is a type of Fluke

Now i just need to figure out best treatment.

Need R2R experts advice.
Wife reading article about QT and meds vs 15ppt Fresh Wter Dips for 5-10 minutes.
Article stating QT & Meds dont always work for all types of flukes but a FW dip will.
Flukes will fall start falling off in 2 mins.

What say the experts?

TL;DR: Freshwater dips are the easiest and fastest for any fish without flukes in the gills. After that, things get harder...

Thank you for the great article. Freah water dip has been completed. Did not find flukes immediately after but left the water for a 24hr followup examination to make sure i didnt mis something.
Fish is isolation right now.
Maybe only the two had them?
If one gets it do all get them automatically or can they be only on a few?
Just wondering why my one that died had them but the others i didnt see any left in the dip water

I don't believe that flukes are something that transfer as readily as something like ich or velvet. Depending upon the type of flukes, they may be species-specific, which may explain why only some of your fish were infected...

Checking in with the #reefsquad for anyone more familiar with flukes than I am.
