I need someone that's been in the hobby longer than me for some feedback. I have an AIO tank and for the past year and a half I have been using Two Fishies Hydro Carbon it is in an inTank media holder. Nothing fancy. I used it in the reef primarily but I also briefly used it in my planted tank in a canister filter. I noticed that in both cases the media bag would look like it was rusting. I didn't think much about it. However my planted tank began to go downhill, I removed the carbon and did massive water changes, it came back. So I figured my GH was off and didn't think anything of it.

Meanwhile my reef tank is just not doing all that well. Nothing is dying but nothing is really responding. During a recent water change I noticed that rust on everything. I finally took notice. Smells like Iron, looks like rust. what the heck? Right? So I throw a magnet in the tub. Everything is magnetic!?! I contact the company. On a Sunday and they respond right away, I think within the hour. They ask if I run GFO and for photos of the tub and the rust. Then nothing. It's been 7 days now with no response.

I pulled the carbon 3 days ago and in 48 hours I noticed things are getting some better color. Also polyp extension is really out there. I am curious if there was no real danger or if I have been slowly killing my tank for these past two years. I would also like to know why the company went silent. I am absolutely blaming the planted tank crashing on this carbon.
