Just put a small juvenile watchman in my tank, and then today I had someone give me a orange stripe prawn goby. My original plan was just to return the watchman as I really wanted and would much rather have the prawn goby.. The problem being is that the watchman is and will be next to impossible for me to catch without destroying my tank. The orange stripe is considerably larger than the watchman, and he has taken up residency on the opposite side of a rock from the watchman. There's no chance their homes could contact each other under the rock either, so I'm inclined to just leave them be until I swap things into my other tank in about a month. Anyone ever housed two gobies in a 40g before?

I have 2 gobies in a 125. A yellow watchmen, which was paired up with a tiger pistol shrimp for 2 years, and a crested oyster goby that I recently purchased. I wasn't aware crested oyster gobies would pair up with pistol shrimps. :/

The crested oyster goby stole the shrimp, and has shunned the yellow watchmen to the other end of my 6 foot long tank.
I would remove which ever one you aren't as fond of to avoid stress for everyone.

I eventually I would like to remove the watchman.. I tried already, but without tearing my rock out there's no way that's going to happen. I just woke up and my moonlights just kicked on. Turns out that my watchman has moved to the other end of the tank, and my firefish has moved into the watchmans spot.. So now the watchman is on the complete opposite side of the orange stripe goby. Hopefully that will keep them from fighting till I tear the tank apart and move everyone to the new tank next month.
