Two super quick questions.

1) I added a pair of clowns to my tank, and they seem to only sticking to the top right section of my tank. They are eating, and swimming normally - but do not leave a the quadrant of the tank. I have a Gramma (introduced earlier) that after hiding for a couple hours explored and is active throughout the tank. I assume that the clowns will just take some time to be comfortable in the tank?

2) Also added a Xenia as a test coral. I swear it almost doubled in size overnight. My nitrate levels are still a bit high (25-50), so maybe that is helping it grow. But is it typical for it to grow that fast? Or am I just seeing it extend out further as it acclimates to the tank.

1. Totally normal, clowns will usually pick a part of the tank and stay out for the most part.

2. It didn’t double in size over night, they grow quickly, but you’re not going to notice massive growth day to day, it’s likely just fully extending its polyps.

My clowns stayed in a corner of the tank for about a week and a half before they ventured out. Perfectly normal. The Xenia is crazy in that it can go from the size of an aspirin to when fully extended three times the size.

thanks for the quick replies. Good to know about the clowns for sure. The male seems to adventure out just a little bit, but when it gets too far, will retreat to the female.

The Gramma that I have appears to try and be social with them, although there is 0 interest from the clowns
