Two Little Fishes Feeder Magnet rusting issue

Just wanted to give fellow reefers a heads up on an issue I had with this magnet rusting. I discovered it by accident. The two attached pictures are self explanatory.

Oh wow bummer, I use the same feeder but I removed the wetside cover and then resealed it with a good bit of silicone to help prevent this. I also never leave it in the tank for longer than a day. It stays dry until it's time to feed, then I pull it out as soon as it's empty.

I replaced the magnet with a plastic coated one. I put in nori when I leave for work and remove when I get home.

As if we don't have enough issues to deal with in this hobby, huh?

Their nano mag cleaner, while excellent at cleaning, has the same issue. After the second one I learned to never leave it in the tank.

yup this happened to me as well! also on my innovative marine gourmet defroster the water side magnet, broke open and began rusting after about 4 months use.
