Two newbie questions

What else is growing on this frag besides the zoas? I can see a feather duster on the side but i'm not sure what the purple flower like stuff is ( not the coralline). I'm thinking of buying this but I want to avoid surprises.
second question, When buying turbo snails or any snail for that matter how can I avoid introducing any unwanted algae or parasites into the tank? I know I can quarantine them but are there other ways?

Looks more like mini feather dusters and maybe xenia. It could be cloves but looks more like xenia to me.

The purple flower stuff you are talking about is blue star polyps and they are beautiful but will take over a tank quick. You can google anything about them and see how quickly they will take over, but also a beautiful piece to add to a tank and let grow if you want some movement under everything else

Nothing grows in my tanks ok lol, unless we're talking about gha or spaghetti worms
