Hi guys
Got a 180, in wall. I have a Randall’s goby that’s pretty small and spent a couple months finding a small alpheus pistol shrimp to join him. I introduced him to the tank via a fluorescent tube fixture protector, right in front of Randall’s cave. Went great. Saw him moving and for a couple days. This was 4 months ago

About 2 weeks in the shrimp went walking and found the cave my 7” pink spotted goby lives in. They have now shacked up and the dude moves sand every night.

Thing is- I want the alpheus to go hang out with the Randall’s goby. I’ve had a big 2.5” tiger pistol in qt and he’s ready to move upstairs.

Was thinking I would introduce him in front of the pink spotted gobies cave and let him figure it out. Hoping the smaller alpheus will move out and find the Randall’s goby at the other side of the tank.

Did I screw up? I’m thinking now that the small alpheus might try some crazy ‘castle doctrine’ bs and try to defend his cave until the end. I mean, he won’t be that stupid right, against a shrimp 2.5 times his size

Cheers!

From what I've been reading larger pistols can dominate and kill the smaller species. I'm in the process of finding some more Alpheus Pistols for my setup as they seem to tend to get along more.

Even in a 180? I would have have thought there’d Ben plenty of real estate

Well I mean if you introduce them on other sides of the tank, there's always a chance, but you're talking about introducing them to the same burrow.
