What is safe to clean the glass with water on a paper towel just ain't doing the trick.

Also, I have a 55g tank I just moved my starter reef(frags) in from a 29g. All is doing well but I want to add rock. Preferably live rock (I love coralline) but will this start a cycle? Should I do it slow?

For the outside of my tank I use a mixture of baking powder and vinegar. Making sure it doesn't get in my tank, does the job pretty well. Forgot the ratio to mix it in, as I used it a while ago. Once cleaned just bounty sheet and water does the job fine.

I use vinegar and water on the outside. Plus most cleaner magnets have felt on the outside that can wipe off small smears. I wouldn't put coral in the new tank until you're done adding the rock. You'll save yourself a lot of headache in case the new rock starts a cycle. Good luck!

I use a tiny dab of dish soap on a paper towel. Tiny.

I don't use dawn btw, it's too thick.

K on rock, yes slow.
If the rock is live and mostly clean or you've cleaned it there could or should be verry little die off. You could clean it and stick it in a bucket with a powerhead do a WC
To avoid a mini cycle. (Addition of large ammonia source. )

Keep in mind the tank will not recycle. It's already cycling and won't stop.
It may minicycle or react to the increase in nutrients from the new rock however.
