I want to pass the control cord that leads from controller to the pump assembly of a Maxspect Gyre through bracing glass on top of tank, so I need to drill hole in the glass slab. This will keep things nice and tidy, instead of having the cord wrap around the bracing slab and back underneath it.

Two questions:

1) about what is the diameter of the cable? I can't imaging it would be more than 1/2 inch, no? This will dictate minimum hole size.

2) has anyone else cut their cord in half for any reason? If so, how many conductors are in there? I want to cut the cord, pass through the glass, then splice back together.

Thanks.

The cable itself is ~6mm and has three wires inside it (at least; the connectors have 3 prongs/receptacles in them - I have not cut a cable open). The screw-cap on the pump-side cable is ~22mm.

(Those measurements are for the 150 model; I would assume the 130 is the same or smaller.)
